I have been obsessed with taking pictures lately. I try and get good close ups, natural shots, or pictures where the background is blurry but your main picture just pops out. My little digital camera was just not cutting it. I have had my eye on the Cannon Rebel XSi. I first saw it on a commercial. I loved how it could take continuous photos. My old camera would take too long in between shots. So, to make a long story short, J bought me the camera. I was completely shocked! It really came out of no where. It's an early Christmas present. But it is also my upcoming birthday present, and even my Valentines Day present! The camera is perfect! I am still trying to figure out the many things it does. It secretly makes me want to be a photographer. I don't know much about photography, but I am trying to learn. I have been spending all my time playing around with it. I am trying to figure out the many techniques, shooting close ups, shooting portraits, apertures, lighting, and so much more. Here are a lot of pics, like I said, I have been practicing. I have a long way to go. But who knows, maybe I'll start my own business...in about 20 years!!!

Now I want Photoshop CS2! It's just never ending...

Good job sista! The blurry background pics look really good!
Your pics are great! looks like you're having fun!!!
It's funny you posted this about Digital SLRs. We have been looking at them, too, and have settled on the Nikon D90 with an 18 - 200mm lens. It will be our only Christmas present to ourselves, we are just waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger! The pictures you took look great!
I'm so jealous! I've been eying new cameras as well. Confessions of a Pioneer Woman has a lot of great photo taking hints...and photo editing.
your pics are great....it takes a good photographer and a good camera for a good pic. If you have a good camera it just makes it easier on you! I would love to go out and take pics with you sometime if you want.....I'm always learning.
Your pictures are great! And you need Photoshop CS3, not CS2! Gah, Big, keep up with the times... :)
It must be our season of life....the SLR's are at the forefront of the 'Horton Save Up for This...' It's only natural. We all get married around the same time, have children around the same time, get new cameras around the same time, go the the restroom...wait...sorry. :)
I thought your pictures were excellent! London is a great little model. Very comfortable in front of the camera. :)
awesome! I want one!
Ok you're awesome, you should start your business now, call it "Candy Cane" and take Christmas pics!!!!
I Love the Umbrella picture, cuter than the morton salt girl for sure!
