Preschool time!

Today was the first day of preschool for my baby, I mean, my big girl. Last night, London and I packed her lunch, (she actually even chose to take some broccoli!), got her clothes ready, washed her new "preschool" sippy cup, and packed up her backpack. We woke up early this morning and got ready. Once I got her dressed, she started to get excited. We went outside to take some pictures, then she informed me she was done with pictures and was ready to go to school. So, J and I packed up everything and headed out. We got there a little early, but she had fun watching all the kiddos with their backpacks and lunch boxes walking to their classrooms. We found her purple room, I gave her a fast hug (J didn't even get one!), and she was off. She immediately found her cubby, put her things away, sat down, and started on a puzzle. No tears. I was kindof shocked. But I am glad that it was so easy.
Lily and I came home and had a wonderful day together. It was like having only one child again (really strange!). I got a lot done, but wondered all day what London was doing! The hardest part was lunch time. Lily and I ate and it just felt weird without big sister there singing songs, talking, and begging for a dessert after only eating a couple of bites of her food! Just seeing her empty little chair and her place mat sitting there was a little difficult.
Then 2:00 finally got here and we picked her up! I couldn't wait to see how her first day went! When I went to her classroom to get her, she wasn't too excited to see me. I think she wanted to stay longer. Her teacher said she did great and that they had a wonderful day. As we were walking out, I began quizzing her about her day. I didn't get too much out of her, but she did tell me a couple of things:

*they found a huge bug in the room and it was apparently really fast
*she painted a rainbow and a scary monster (sure wish I could see that picture!)
*she ate her whole sandwich
*she liked laying down on her nap mat because she was cold and it helped to warm her up
*she went to the bathroom several times (very important for a three old!)
*she liked playing puzzles with another little girl in her class
*she told me again she painted---this little girl LOVES to paint!

So overall, I think she had a great day. I asked her if she wanted to go back and she said yes. That's a good sign. I asked her a final question, "What was your favorite thing you did at school?" She replied with an ecstatic voice, "LUNCH!" Ha--that's my girl!

So proud of you sweetie!

My pretty girl! I love you!
