Our new baby

We finally caved in and got a puppy last night. We were definitely getting a new dog, but we just really couldn't decide when. Are you ever really prepared for a new puppy? No, so I just took a look at a link that my sister sent me from the Dallas Morning News, called up the lady, scheduled a time, and went to take a look. I knew that once we were there, we would buy a dog. It's hard not to fall in love with puppies immediately. There were lots of puppies to choose from. It was so hard. Once I thought I knew, that puppy would get lost with his brothers and sisters making me have to start the process all over again. The girls were with us, so after petting all of them, we moved back, called them, and the one who came to us, we scooped up and held on. We named him Scout. He is precious. He's a golden retriever (the best dog in my book) and he's 8 weeks old. He is clumsy, rambunctious, into everything, loves sand, pees all over my carpet, ate our grape bush, loves to cuddle, and he already worships the girls. London loves him and anytime we have to leave the house she cries. She begs for him to be able to sleep in her room. Lily is still unsure. She wants to watch him from a distance. He's too unpredictable for her. He did jump on her back, knock her down to the ground, and he stole her paci from her, so he has some work to do to win her over. Scout sleeps pretty good at night. We had to get up once with him, but he thinks 5am means ready to start the day--and it doesn't. So, I have some work to do. He eats good so far and no poo accidents in the house yet--keeping my fingers crossed.

Scout has big shoes to fill. Bailey meant so much to us, but I do think that Bailey would approve! Meet the little rug rat!!
