Vail

We are back from Vail and all bones are in place. We had the best time! We left last Wednesday leaving our two girls with my sister. It is always hard to leave them, but I knew they were in good hands, so I didn't have to worry too much. The Kirby's and ourselves arrived in Vail late Wednesday evening. The Hewes, Bortzfield's and Franks were already there. We toured the huge beautiful house and got settled in. The house had 6 bedrooms and I don't even know how many bathrooms that place had. The kitchen was perfect, the living room was huge, our master bedroom had a view to die for, the heated floors were cozy, the elevator was unreal, the hot tub was amazing, the heated deck and garage were fabulous, and the list just goes on and on. J's boss knew what he was doing when he built this house.
On Thursday we had ski school. Our ski instructor had an ego the size of Texas so needless to say the day was long, hard, and very frustrating for me. We spent the first 3 hours on one ski and no poles. When it was time to put both skis on, I was exhausted. I ditched the class and hung out inside. After the day was over I was hating skiing. I wasn't going to ever try that again.
Friday I found myself back out on the slopes with my new teachers, Amy and Carol. I was nervous but they were so patient and encouraging. I finally started to ski and by the end of the afternoon I was doing some slow S's down the hill. I improved a lot and feel a lot more confident now. It snowed all day and skiing down the slopes in the snow was just right out of a fairytale. I hope to forever remember that day. That evening I had the best time. We headed over to The Tavern and had some girl time. It was much needed. That evening we played games. I will forever think differently about seagulls, urinals, and PJ pants. I haven't laughed that hard in a really long time. It was good.
Saturday was a lazy day. We did some shopping, had some lunch, and enjoyed not having anywhere to be. It snowed all day. It was a great day to end our trip.
We flew home Sunday. I was so excited to see my girls. I missed them so very much. To see their smiling, happy faces was just priceless. We were glad to be home.
I would definitely go skiing again. Our friends made our 10 year anniversary trip so much fun, and I'm so glad they were all there!

On the way to the airport, something terrible happened. I forgot something. Something so important that I just about had an anxiety attack right there on George Bush. I forgot my camera. I was so upset and still angry at myself. All I had was my phone. I'm still so so sad....
With all that said, here are some pics of our trip.

These pics don't do this house justice. No matter what gigantic window you look out of you have a beautiful view of the moutains.

The shower in our master bath had 8--I repeat 8 shower heads.

The beautiful table where we had delicious food and lots of laughs...

The day of ski school...it was a perfect day.

This is me. I may look scary but I can promise you I was never, ever, ever cold.

Headed back up the moutain to ski yet again with one ski.

I smiled every time my picture was taken....dork.

Second day skiing. Riding the ski lift with my BFF.

Much happier that second day.

Did have a few falls though.

Riding the Gondola..sorry Kirby.

The last day!

Happy Early Early 10 Year Anniversary!
