I decided back in March that I would put London in a swim class this summer. She likes the water and likes to swim...with floaties tightly wound around her arms and her noodle in hand. She is not a dare devil. She would prefer to live the rest of her life without ever putting her face in the water. I couldn't even get her to at least try to blow bubbles in the bath tub. So, after getting some great recommendations, we decided on a class near our house. I wanted a class where I did not have to get in the water. London is a people-pleaser and I knew she would do better without me hovering over her. I was so nervous the first day. She seemed excited. The kiddos got in, the class started, and the teachers worked their magic. I could not believe what I was seeing. London was blowing bubbles, swimming all by herself a short distance, and she even jumped off the diving board!!! HUH?? MY KID?? WHAT??
Well, we just completed our first week and we have one more week to go. These teachers and this little class is more than I ever expected. The kids went under water like 20 times on Thursday. They are swimming longer distances, and I'm just amazed at the progress they have all made. London loves it. She is now trying to teach Lily all her tricks. I still cannot believe how far we've come in one week. Michael Phelps may just have him some competition...
The parents have to sit behind the fence. There are rules. (Don't get me started on the parking.)
They start out with noodles and flippers.
Listening and learning...
Positive reinforcement works with this kid.
About to take off!
Made it!
Jump time!
Holy Moly!
Going back for more!
Sweating in the heat! At least we have great company!!
Can't wait to see what this week is all about...

It's not a true Sherry experience until you get chastised by the parking nazi. ;-) So glad London had a good time!
