Proud Momma

I am not artistic. At all. I can't draw to save my life. I hated art in school. I was terrible. I envied others who could pick up a pencil and draw effortlessly. London is one of those people. The kid can draw. She is so artistic. So creative. So patient. It's amazing how long she will sit at her little princess table in her room and "craft." It's her favorite thing to do.
I was ecstatic when she came home several weeks ago with a note telling us that her drawing was chosen to hang in the 2012 Celebrate The Arts Exhibit. I was so thrilled for her! We talked about what a big accomplishment this was and how proud we were of her! I asked her what she drew and she shrugged her shoulders and said, "I have no idea."
The exhibit was at Wylie High School. It was open to the public on a Saturday right when I was in NY. So, J took the girls and took some pictures for us.

It's the most beautiful picture I  have even seen. I'm not sure what it is but we are calling it an abstract painting. J said it was the best one out of all the Kindergartners...of course it was. We are just proud of our London. We shouldn't really be surprised though, this girl crafts and draws from the time she gets home from school until the second she lays her head down at night. It's just amazing to me that any child of mine can draw AND get picked to have her drawing hang somewhere where people can look at. Wow.
Good job sweetie!!

Great job London! I would have picked that picture for a contest too!
