but once we got going, she seemed excited too! It is absolutely gorgeous. I love this time of year: the trees are changing, the leaves are changing colors, and it is just so quiet and peaceful.
The thing that has captured her attention the most is the bridge. Some days we can't quite make it over because she is fascinated with looking over it and into the water. I don't think she is the least bit afraid of heights!

When we can actually cross the bridge and go on, it just gets even prettier. While she is picking up leaves and Bailey is smelling of everything, I can take time out and thank the Lord for all that He has created. I just get to spend that quiet time with Him (even if it's only for a few minutes!) and take in everything He has made.
Then eventually, it's time to turn around and head back. Sometimes we get so far I have to carry her back---I better be losing some weight for that!! The first time we started to head back though, I came across this:

and it actually kind of made me nervous! You see, my head is a magnet for stuff like this. I can't count how many times that I have been hit in the head with a ball. In high school, while cheerleading, I have been hit with a football (many times) and basketball. I've been run over by a football player, I have been hit by a guy waving a flag on the field, and the list goes on and on. So, I'm wondering if I should invest in some helmets for all of us to wear?? Would that look strange--walking through the trail with a helmet on???
Anyway, we haven't gotten hit yet--I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Ok, so now I know where you live!!!
I LOVE going walking on that trail...we should go sometime together. Logan loves picking up the leaves. That's how he got the scar on his head.
Wait until spring. Its best then. THe trees and plants are all bloomed, the birds fly all around, and the turtles come out at the little lake. The turtles are totally my favorite :)
That is so funny! I have never seen a sign like that. It's awesome that you have a trail like that to walk on. Lots of memories to create.
