I can see the light!

Hallelujah! I can finally see the light in my dark tunnel of potty training. It has been an on-going process, but finally there is hope! The whole key is consistency, which I didn't do a good job of providing at first. I have this list of things I am going to do differently with baby #2 and this potty training thing is one of them. It took a week of London getting used to going in the toilet and we had many, many accidents. The second week she began to get a lot better and the accidents weren't as frequent. But once the weekends came along, I found myself slacking and letting a pull-up do all the work. Then when Monday came, I felt that I was starting all over again. Potty training takes a lot of patience and practice, practice, practice! I am finally doing better at being consistent and London is understanding when she needs to go and what to do. We had a major accomplishment on Saturday night--we were out to dinner and out of no where she said she needed to go potty. I wasn't too sure if she really needed to go, but I took her anyway. After about 10 minutes of disinfecting the bathroom and putting toilet paper all over that toilet, I sat her down and to my surprise she went! I have never been more proud. She did ask for a Hershey kiss (that is her little reward) and of course, being so prepared and all, I didn't have one. So, after dinner we headed out to get a snow cone and that seemed to do the trick!
Anyway, London is now telling me when she needs to go and it's wonderful not running around with carpet spray and wet wipes all day now. She still has an occasional accident now and then, but for the most part, I think we have this process under control. Yippee! (the things that excite me now days are unbelievable!!) :)

That's great....maybe since you have it down you can come teach Reagan who's scared of the potty.

That is great! I totally agree with you that consistency is the key. It's really hard to watch your child every second of the day for their "potty signs," like you've got nothing else to do! Congratulations Mandy and London!

YAY!!! Congrats to you ALL! I know that is something you really wanted to get down before baby #2 and I'm so glad London is doing such a good job.

BTW...do you have a name for the new little one yet?
