Anyway, I went into the hospital at 5am on Tuesday, August 19. I was so ready and so excited. My parents came down the night before and watched London for us. I didn't want to have to worry about her at all, so I was glad she was in good hands. I got my room, got hooked up to the many IV's, and was ready to go. My contractions started, and I forgot how fun those can be! I finally got my epidural when I was about 4 cm dilated. My doctor also came in and broke my water shortly after. When I had London, my water broke on its own. When my doctor did it....OH BOY! That was probably the worse thing I have ever experienced. It was way worse then the contractions. Well, everything was going okay when my nurse came in to check on me. She couldn't find Lily's heart beat. So they turned me to each side, put the oxygen mask on me, and tried to find it again. My nurse was calm at first but then she slowly started to get anxious. She began calling in some other nurses to see if they could find her heart beat. No one could. They called my doctor, more nurses came in, and things started to get hectic. I had no idea what was happening to me. They poked me and stuck me with all kinds of fun needles. Finally, one nurse reassured me that everything was okay, but they were going to have to take me in. My mind went completely blank. I had no idea what she was talking about. But as they started to wheel me away, I knew I was going in for a C-section. I was scared out of my mind. I knew that having a C-section was always a possibility, but I just didn't really think it would happen. Jeff was left behind to get his scrubs on. I was surrounded by so many people and that was scary too. (They even had to announce over the intercom 3 time that they needed "any OB to the ER...stat!") Things went by so fast after that. I had two doctors and a room full of nurses ready to go. My doctor didn't even make it in enough time. I lucked out though because the doctor who performed the surgery happened to be the Chief OB Surgeon at the hospital. He was loud and actually pretty funny despite the circumstances. After feeling a lot of pressure, they pulled out my sweet baby. Jeff barely made it in to see them pulling her out. She didn't cry right off (I think I held my breath until I heard her cry!) but after the nurses did their magic, I finally heard that much anticipated sweet cry. She was beautiful. She had beautiful skin and her head was perfectly round. I guess that is one of the good things about having a cesarean. I only got to see her for a few minutes and then they took her away to make sure everything was okay. She was fine and they still have no idea why they couldn't find her heart beat. (London made a similar entrance into this world so I should have know better!)
After having a C-section with Lily and having a natural birth with London, I can't decide which one was better. There are both good and bad things about both. I am just glad that it's all over and both of my girls are healthy and happy! I am a lucky mom!!

Love the new pics! She looks so different already...but soooo cute and beautiful. She looks a lot like you! I bet you're glad to hear that for a change! I was too when Reagan was born. Again, she is so cute, can't wait to see and hold her.
Wow...what sweet relief you must have felt for that cry. Thank you for sharing the story.
I think she looks more like Jeff than London did at that age. She's a beautiful little girl!
She's so precious and I'm so glad everything is okay! I can only imagine how scary that was for you!!!

oh.. I just cried for you. The experience just seems so scary and I am so glad that God was good and cared for you guys the whole way through! Definitely a time when you experience his presence!
I had a c-section with both my boys and you are right... You just hold your breath and you keep holding and squeezing your husband's hand UNTIL you finally hear that BEAUTIFUL scream!
