Galveston

We decided to take a little family vacation to Galveston. J had the week off, so we loaded up the family (including both grandma's!) and headed down south. The car ride down there went well. London and Lily had a stash of snacks, toys, coloring books, crayons, juice, and play dough. We only stopped once so we made good time. Once we got to our hotel, we unloaded and headed to the pool. Our hotel was very nice and it overlooked the ocean.

That evening we went to the Rain Forest Cafe. London enjoyed watching all the animals come to life and Lily sat wide-eyed and took it all in as well! It was a nice evening.

The next morning we got ready and walked across the street to the ocean. It was so fun to watch London play in the sand and the waves. She loved it. Lily on the other hand was more interested in eating the sand than anything else. I brought my camera along to practice on my photography skills, but unfortunately I didn't get to take many pictures. It was so humid that my camera lens kept fogging up. It was very frustrating! Thank goodness my mom took several pictures! Some of them are foggy but at least I have a few more to add to the collection!

After the beach, we went to lunch then came back for some much needed naps. That evening we ordered pizza and headed back to the beach...

That night after the baths were taken and the kiddos were asleep, J and I headed out for a little alone time. Then we woke up the next morning and once the missing rental keys were found (down in the lobby!!!!!!) we headed home! It was a nice little trip and perfect for London and Lily. We will definitely be going back again when it's time to escape from reality!

On a side note, J and I rented a minivan for the trip and I HATE to admit this but I am in love with the minivan. I always told myself that I would NEVER drive a dorky minivan but now I see why people do. It's roomy, easy to get in, and so kid friendly! I may have to swallow my pride and make a trade....maybe....

I too am considering going to the darkside of minivan land. They are functional and nice. I'm pretty sure our next car purchase will be a (gulp!) minivan.

Glad you had fun at the beach. Audrey LOVED the beach when we went to Fl. She had so much fun!

How fun!! Looks like you guys had a great time. I think you should bite the bullet and get a minivan.

Looks like a great vacation! And the minivan was one of the best things we ever invested in--geeky, but comfort wins out on that one.
