We have finally completed the second round of our application. I never thought we would get it all finished. The missing 2008 tax forms didn't help us out either. But we got it all signed, sealed, and delivered. Now, we will wait to get approved and get started on the next step--the home study. I don't have a whole lot of details here but our family will be evaluated. That sounds so scary to me. We will be assigned a case worker who will meet with us several times. They will make sure we are prepared to adopt a child. I'm not sure how long this will take though. This whole process is so new!
We are still very much excited! I haven't told the girls a whole lot of infomation yet but London knows we are adopting. I don't think it has all sunk in. Right now, our discussions are about orphans. We talk about how not all children have a mom and a dad. Many children out there are unloved, and unwanted. We talk about how our family is very blessed and we can bring one of those children home. We can love them and give them a home. She doesn't really ask too many questions right now. It is quite a lot to handle for her little mind. We were having dinner the other night and we weren't even talking about adoption but she blurted out, "So, is this kid we are adopting going to be 17?" I have no idea why she asked that. I laughed and told her no. I asked her if she wanted to adopt a 17 year old and she said no, she wanted a baby.
We are continuing to pray for our child. Would you pray with us too? We pray that our child is safe and being cared for. We pray that God has put the right people in their little lives who care. I just want our sweetheart to know that whatever situation they are in right now--it's not forever. There is a family out there who wants them. There is a family out there that is praying for them. There is a family out there who cares. I pray this sweet child feels the Lord's love, His peace, and His mercy--every day.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
