I have now celebrated 35 Easters. That is a lot of Easters. That is a ton of dyed eggs, many many Easter dresses, a bunch of egg hunts, and quite a few times of hearing about our Lord being resurrected from the grave. I hate to admit this and I'm very embarrassed. But this is the first time in my 35 years that Easter has impacted me greatly. I think it was a few things combined that made this Easter so different. My Bible study on Beth Moore's Jesus The One and Only had the perfect timing. We were right at Jesus's death and resurrection. The Bible was also on TV. So with those things heavy on my heart, I celebrated Easter with a new outlook.
The week of Easter my mind and heart were consumed with Jesus. I thought a lot about His death and what that means to me. I thought about His life, His words, His sacrifice. I took it all in.
Easter weekend we stayed around the house. We did color some eggs...
and we made some Resurrection Rolls. They were divine and really looked like little tombs. The girls are still wondering where those marshmallows went?? ;)
Sorry-this was my only picture!!
We went to church on Sunday and the sermon was great. My favorite part was when our Pastor compared how we are the only ones who worship a God who is ALIVE! It was powerful and the music we sang brought tears to my eyes. I think the heaviness of the whole week had finally caught up with me. I didn't want to leave church. My heart was full.
But we did have to leave and we headed over to J's mom house. We stayed all jazzed up so we could get a few pics!
Nana had a scavenger hunt and an egg hunt! London read all the clues and they followed the instructions to find their goodies!
Reading the next clue!
Egg hunt!
It was a beautiful afternoon and a wonderful day to celebrate the real meaning of Easter. It was an Easter that touched my heart and filled me up. I am grateful that He is in fact----risen!
Happy Happy Easter!
