It's that time of year again. Yesterday London had her Thanksgiving parade and feast at preschool. Lily was so excited that she got to bring her own lunch and eat with her Sissy. She helped me make it at home and once I put it in London's old lunch box, she would not let go. She clutched that thing the whole time.
Here comes London!
London was a Pilgrim this year. She waved and smiled as she walked by everyone. She looked so old to me.
After the parade, the kids sat down on the steps to sing a sweet Thanksgiving song. They bowed their heads and thanked God. It was precious.
After they prayed, we found Ms. Parker's blanket, sat down, and began the feast!
One mom brought chocolate covered Pilgrim hats. So creative!
As everyone was having a good time, I immediately noticed a little girl all alone. She was the only one without a parent. She had her knees curled up, tears streaming down her face, and obviously wasn't eating. I figured Ms. Parker would notice her but after what seemed like forever, I took it upon myself to take charge. I went over to her, sat down, asked if I could be her friend, calmed her down, and helped her eat her lunch. I just felt terrible for her. Not sure if it was the mom in me or the teacher in me. Thankfully J was there with London and Lily while I could eat with this sweet, quiet, little girl.
After the feast, the kids got to check out all the Thanksgiving decor.
We had a fabulous time. I can't believe this is London's last year for the parade and the feast. Next year we'll be doing some kind of Kindergarten Thanksgiving activity. But what is even scarier is that Lily will be doing the parade and feast next year!! My babies are just growing way toooooo fast!

It always broke my heart when someones mom or dad wasn't able to come. I'm so glad you felt led to love on her and help make her day special too.
