Our Sunday school class recently went on a mission trip to Honduras. We are helping build an orphanage. I wanted to go but with the girls in school it was just too hard this time. So, it ended up being a guys trip. J was really excited and I was too. I couldn't wait to hear and see all that he would experience. They left early on a Wednesday morning. J and I talked on the phone a lot and he sent me a lot of texts and pictures. The guys worked really hard. It rained a lot but they still got a lot done. This is an on-going project and we are hoping to return. The hardest part of their trip was visiting the government owned orphanages. J sent me pics and told me about the conditions there and it was enough to make me cry. These poor babies who are unloved and unwanted have terrible living conditions. There were about 3 babies to a crib. One little boy was actually tied to the bed. A rope was tied around his ankle to keep him from getting out of the crib. The babies are allowed one diaper change a day. One. There are hardly any toys. They bascially have to stay in their cribs all day. The babies and kids are starving for love and attention. When the guys held them, the children didn't want to be let go. It's heart breaking and humbling all at the same time. One of the orphanages they went to looked more like a prison than a place were children live.

J said it was very difficult seeing these innocent babies and children living in these orphanages. It breaks my heart.
The guys are not finished. There is still a lot to do. But it's good that our class is starting to work there. I'm excited to see all that God is going to do. He's already very hard at work within our own family. There are big changes for us and we are SO excited!
This makes me feel very thankful for all that we have here. We are so blessed. We have so much to give. I can't wait to share more with you!
