Library

We've been going to the library and when we went the several days ago, they had a marionette show on Hansel and Gretel. There were a million kids there but we got pretty good seats. The man started the show and he needed volunteers to come to the front and show the crowd how marionettes work. London looked at me and shook her head. She gets embarrassed so easily so there was no way she was going to go up there. But Lily shot her little hand up in the air and wanted to get picked so badly. The man pulled the last marionette out. It was a pink flamingo and when London saw it she excitedly put her hand up and guess what?? She got picked! She looked at me and her eyes were as big as saucers! She jumped out and ran to the front. Meanwhile, Lily burst into tears. She was so sad she didn't get picked. Poor girl!

She was so happy she got picked! Lily finally settled down and we watched the show. First off, I didn't really know the story of Hansel and Gretel---and now I know why. It was creepy. The marionettes didn't help either. This is kindof what they looked like...
I was afraid Lily was going to have nightmares for days....
And of course the witch who tries to put them in the oven to bake them. Weird.

Anyway, it ended and we checked out books and headed home to get ready for the 4th! We went to our little town's firework show and it was really good! This was the first time Lily got to really enjoy it. She was afraid it was going to be too loud but it ended up being just fine.

We had a great evening and we are blessed and thankful to live where we live. London said it best,
"I just love the USA!"
