Pumpkin Patch diaster

This year instead of Owen's Farm (I am tired of their high prices and bad service) I did some research and found that one of the best pumpkin farms around here is in Celina. So, we loaded everyone up and headed out there last Saturday. It took about 45 minutes and this pumpkin patch is in. the. middle. of. no. where. Once we finally got there, we came across all the animals! They were hungry!

Lily just wanted to watch.

Next, we headed over to take some pics with the pumpkins!

Lily was more interested in all the people and not me trying desperately to get her to look at the camera. London on the other hand was my little ham.

My big girl!

Finally some cooperation.

Time to pet the animals!

J is trying to pet the Long Horn--he's such a cowboy.

We decided to go on a hay ride before we ate our free hot dogs. We waited for the big tractor to pick us up.

Finally on!

And this was our last dry picture.

As soon as we started on the hay ride, the skies opened up, and the rain came down. Not just a little shower but sheets and sheets of rain. Rain that did not let up. The hay ride was packed with lots of people, and I'm not sure what drug the driver was on, but he decided to continue with the entire ride. The rain soaked us to the bone and it was cold. The rain pelted my back, my face, my arms, my hair. Mascara running down my face--not my finest hour. It felt like little ice chips stinging me all over. Lily just put her little head down and J tried to shield her. I held London and tried to cover her. She kept crying, "I'm done with this hay ride!" It was miserable. When we finally came to the end, everyone jumped off and ran for cover. J and I made a mad dash for the car. Forget that free hot dog. We stripped down the girls, covered them with blankets, and made the long way back home.

Don't even get me started on Rudolph. That is a whole other post.
Thank goodness my camera and lens survived. I was more worried about that than anything. We did enjoy the first half of the pumpkin patch though! We will definitely go back next year, but we'll just check the forecast before we leave.

**Have you ever tried to take off wet jeans?? Fun times.

Oh no! I kept waiting for the troubles when I was reading! They were kinda all cute wet though. Can't believe the Rudolph is back in your life. Looking forward to hearing about that too!
